What made you choose to go into your field?
I always loved putting together things, building them, figuring out how they work - so this was something that came naturally.

What do you like best about your job?
How quickly the technology changes. It’s a task in and of itself to keep abreast of the changes. Every day you learn something new in this field.

Describe a typical day at work.
There is no such beast! Every day is different because we deal with so many different people and situations!

What’s the most interesting/exciting/strangest thing that ever happened to you at work?
The W32.Welchia.worm, which as soon as the user turned on the computer and it had an ethernet connection (which most computers in the college have) it would infect the computer within 20 sec. We spent around three months removing this worm from infected computers and patching computers not infected!

What advice would you give to students who are interested in working in your field?
Always be positive. Look for ways to make things happen, rather than saying things cannot be done. I have discovered you should always be friendly and helpful. You never know when you’ll need the support of those you helped along the way.

What’s your biggest accomplishment?
Getting my masters degree (MHRD) from Clemson!

What are your hobbies?
Working out at Fike, bicycling, jogging and eating chocolate
