Applying to the Clemson MBA Program:

When you apply to the Clemson MBA, our advisors will design a curriculum for you that considers your years of professional work experience, any prior business education, and the emphasis options that match your career interests.   Some of you may elect to pursue the MBA full-time but others of you who are working full-time may choose to complete the program by taking classes part-time in the evenings.

As is typical of MBA programs, the Clemson MBA is designed for students with a minimum of 2 years of post-undergraduate, professional work experience.  We make some exceptions to the work experience standard for outstanding students with non-business undergraduate degrees, particularly those pursuing another graduate degree at Clemson.

Full-time Enrollment:  Admission to the Clemson MBA on a full-time basis is highly competitive.  We consider your undergraduate grade point average, letters of recommendation, GMAT/GRE score, prior education and work experience, personal statement, and the results of your interview with a member of our staff. During the application process, we will advise you about the specifics of your program of study, as noted above.  Most full-time students start the program in the fall semester on campus.

We award graduate assistantships to exceptionally qualified students.  Assistantships provide sharply reduced tuition and a weekly wage for working 15 hours per week on career-relevant projects with industry partners.

Part-Time Enrollment:  Admission as a part-time working professional student requires a minimum of two years of career-relevant work experience, satisfactory undergraduate grade point average, and a satisfactory score on the GMAT/GRE. Classes are offered in the evenings at the University Center in Greenville and in the afternoons and evenings on campus.  Part-time students may begin taking classes in any semester.

Non-Degree Seeking: For working professionals with an acceptable background, it may be possible to start classes prior to taking the GMAT/GRE. A maximum of 12 credit hours of foundation courses may be completed as a non-degree seeking student.  To move to degree-seeking status, non-degree students must make an acceptable score on the GMAT/GRE and submit a second application. All application documents, with the exception of the standardized test scores, must be submitted for consideration.

International Students:   If you have any specific questions about the application process for international students, please contact the MBA program at mba@clemson.edu
