BS in Accounting / Accounting Minor
Bachelor of Science in Accounting
- Students may be admitted to the bachelor's program upon successful completion of the Freshman Pre- Business Program.
- Students devote approximately one-half of their study to the humanities, English, public speaking, mathematics, and the natural and social sciences.
- Students obtain a broad-based education that gives them accounting and business expertise and contributes to their proficiency in analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Students receiving the bachelor's degree are prepared to begin accounting careers in corporate accounting or internal auditing, or to continue study at the graduate level.
Bachelor of Science Degree Requirements
Minor in Accounting
A minor consists of at least 15 semester credits, with no fewer than nine credits at the 300 level or higher. A student cannot major and minor in the same field or acquire a minor that is not allowed by the degree program. In programs that require a minor, courses may not be used to fulfill both the major and minor requirements. Courses used to fulfill general education requirements, however, may be counted toward the minor. Students are encouraged to contact the department offering the minor for advising. A student may specify one completed minor on the graduation application to be recorded in his/her academic record. Specific requirements are detailed below.
Note: Accounting Students are not required to complete a
minor. If they choose to compete a minor, they declare that minor when they
