Academic Advising Center - Change Of Major

Pre-Business Program (Non-Degree)

  • Students wishing to change their major to Pre-Business must 1) have completed at least 12 credit hours of college work at Clemson, 2) meet the Continuing Enrollment Policy, and 3) have a minimum 2.0 GPR.

Business Degree Programs

  • Any student wishing to pursue a B.S. degree in Accounting, Economics, Financial Management, Industrial Management, Management, or Marketing must first be admitted to the Pre-Business Program, satisfactorily complete the Pre-Business Freshman Core curriculum, and have a minimum GPR of 2.0. Students wishing to change majors into the B.S. in Marketing program must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative gpr.

Students who exceed 64 credit hours in the Pre-Business program and still do not meet the requirements for admission into a Business degree program must declare another major.

Behavioral Science Programs

Economics (BA), Political Science, and Sociology

  • Students wishing to change their major to Economics (B.A.), Political Science, and Sociology must 1) have completed at least 12 credit hours of college work at Clemson, 2) meet the Continuing Enrollment Policy, and 3) have a minimum 2.0 GPR.

Psychology

  • Students wishing to change their major to Psychology must 1) have completed at least 12 credit hours of college work at Clemson, 2) meet the Continuing Enrollment Policy, and 3) have a minimum 2.4 GPR.
