The Clemson Study abroad trip to China includes summer programs for both undergraduates
(6 weeks) and graduates (2 weeks). Through a combination of classwork, visits
to Chinese businesses, and cultural tours, students develop an international
awareness and understanding of the language, culture and business practices
of China .
Undergraduate
Program (6 weeks)
One week touring Beijing and the surrounding area.
Five weeks studying at a major Chinese University . Previous trips included
study at Fudan University in Shanghai and Dalian University in Dalian .
Graduate
Program (2 weeks)
During the spring semester students are required to study Chinese history,
business methods and etiquette. Each student provides an in-depth analysis
of a U.S. company operating in China in addition to completing an examination
on the required study materials.
The group will spend two weeks in China touring plants, sight seeing, and participating
in class discussions. Presentations on major economic and political issues
will be provided and led by Chinese scholars and members of the business community.
