Claude Lilly joined the College of Business and Behavioral Science in July 2007. Prior to joining Clemson University, Lilly served as Dean of the Belk College of Business and the James J. Harris Chair of Risk Management and Insurance at UNC Charlotte. He was professor of risk management and insurance and Director of the Center for Risk Management and Insurance Research at Florida State University. He also was a faculty member and the director of the Center for Insurance Research at the University of Southern California.
He has edited several journals, including the Risk Management and Insurance Review, the CPCU Journal, the Journal of Insurance Regulation, and the Journal of Reinsurance. Lilly earned his PhD at Georgia State University, where he majored in risk management and insurance and minored in international finance. He holds the CPCU and CLU designations and is a member of numerous professional associations. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
