Tycho Howle founded nuBridges, LLC in the spring of 2001 and currently serves as its Chairman. Howle is a pioneer in the eBusiness arena having founded Harbinger Computer Services in March 1983. He grew Harbinger to become a world-class e-Commerce firm with more than 1,000 employees, 40,000 active customers, and annual revenues exceeding $155 million. Howle served as both Chairman and CEO for most of his 17-year tenure with Harbinger, and led the company through its many phases of growth including an IPO in 1995. Howle holds a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Computer Science and an M.S. in Systems Engineering from Clemson University. He also holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
Steve Owings graduated from Clemson University in 1975 with a major in Economics and spent virtually his entire career in the technology distribution business. In 1983, Owings entered into the computer distribution business with a company that eventually became Gates/FA Distributing. In 1992, Owings and Michael Baur founded ScanSource, Inc. with Owings as its Chairman and CEO. He guided ScanSource through an IPO in 1994, and a secondary offering in 1997. Owings resigned as CEO in 2000, but remained active as Chairman until 2005. Today, ScanSource, Inc. is a leading international distributor of specialty technology products, including those in the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC), point-of-sale (POS), telephony and security markets. ScanSource's combined revenues exceeded $1.4 billion for Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2005, and ScanSource currently has a market capitalization in excess of $700 million.
