Clemson University's Spiro Center to Hold Entrepreneurial Investment Seminar

CLEMSON -- Clemson University's Spiro Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership is sponsoring "Seed Investing as a Team Sport: A Working Session for Private Investors in Entrepreneurial Ventures" on Friday, Oct. 25, in downtown Greenville.

Caron St. John, management professor and director of the Spiro Center, says the daylong workshop is being conducted by the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds and will teach the investment process step by step.

"We want to get the word out to all of those who want to learn more about the seed-investing process," St. John said. "The workshop is for seed or angel investors, potential investors, entrepreneurs that want equity investments and community leaders that want to cultivate angel networks."

The seminar will offer the basics of pricing and structuring of seed investments, networking opportunities with other investors, professionals and advisers in the region, team skills for making and managing investments, a manual on essential due diligence questions, an annotated bibliography of resources on seed investing and a collection of articles on business planning and angel investing.

The seminar will be held at the Westin Poinsett Hotel in Greenville from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information, call (864) 656-5963.
