Wayne H. Stewart, Jr.
teaches courses in strategy, entrepreneurship and international
business. A member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi honor
societies, he has also taught graduate management courses at Zayed University, U.A.E., the Institute of Economics and
Management in Lisbon, Portugal, and Gelsenkirchen Business School in
Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Dr. Stewart's research interests include individual and team issues in
venture creation and performance, strategic change and firm development,
the organization-environment interface, and management issues in
transitional contexts, particularly the former Soviet Union. His
research has appeared in academic journals such as the Academy of
Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business
Venturing, Journal of Management and Journal of Small Business
Management. He has also published a research monograph, and
presented research papers at numerous professional conferences, where
his work has been recognized with research awards on three occasions.
He received the Emerging Scholar Research Excellence Award for the
College of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson in 2001.
Dr.
Stewart serves on the editorial review board of three academic journals,
frequently reviews on an ad hoc basis, and has provided consulting
services to several organizations.
Before
his academic career, he was co-owner of a gourmet restaurant for a
number of years.
