Dr. McKnew specializes in applied operations research. His
research interests generally lie in the application of management science techniques to
issues in manufacturing and public emergency systems. Current research focuses on the use
of linear programming and simulation modeling to examine the role of safety stocks in a
competitive environment, and the use of regional inventory facilities to buffer vertically
integrated companies. He has published widely in journals ranging from Decision
Sciences to the Journal of Trauma, and has been recognized as a
"research star" by the Decision
Sciences Institute. He is a recipient of the Joseph J. Lyons Distinguished
Teaching Award. |
