Jason Thatcher is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at Clemson University. Dr. Thatcher holds B.A.’s in History (Cum Laude) and Political Science (Cum Laude) from the University of Utah, his M.P.A. from the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at Florida State University, and his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Florida State University.  Dr. Thatcher is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.            

 Dr. Thatcher’s research examines the influence of individual beliefs and characteristics on the use of information technology.  He also studies strategic and human resource management issues related to the application of technologies in organizations.  His work has appeared, or is forthcoming, in MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, American Review of Public Administration, and the Journal of Applied Psychology.  Dr. Thatcher was awarded the 2006 Emerging Scholar Research Award for the College of Business and Behavioral Science. 

Dr. Thatcher teaches courses in Management Information Systems, Emerging Technologies and Strategic Management.  Prior to joining Clemson University, he won a teaching award from the College of Business at Florida State University  Dr. Thatcher earned the 2008 Undergraduate Teaching Award for the College of Business and Behavioral Science..
