Clemson University's Safe Schools Program

CUSSP, Clemson Univeristy Safe Schools Program, is a multi-agency, ongoing, self-correcting process by which schools and communities can become safer and more peaceful enviornments. Clemson Univeristy and the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service organized CUSSP in the fall of 1998.   It works cooperatively with the State Law Enforcement Division, the National Drop Out Prevention Center, the South Carolina Department of Education, the South Carolina Departments of Juvenile Justice and all other interested individuals, community groups and local and state organizations and agencies, to bring together a comprehensive, developmentally sensitive series of programs for instilling non-violence in the state's schools and communities.
