Lieutenant Colonel Craig A. Wells was assigned to the Clemson University Fightin’ Tiger Battalion on July 1, 2008 as an assistant professor of military leadership.
Prior to this assignment he served in the Corps of Engineers, South Atlantic Division, Mobile District, as the Deputy Commander.
LTC Wells began his career as an enlisted military policeman serving in a Nuclear Surety position with the 202d Military Police Company, V Corps. In 1983 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers. He served in the 237th Engineer Battalion in Heilbronn, Germany; the 17th and 8th Engineer Battalions at Fort Hood, Texas; and commanded a company in Southwest Asia during Operation Desert Storm. Other assignments include observer controller duties at the Combat Maneuver Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany; brigade engineer in the Southern European Task Force in Vicenza, Italy; operations officer in the 54th Engineer Battalion in Bamberg, Germany, and senior instructor and author at the Pre-Command Course, US Army Command and General Staff College.
LTC Wells holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in Engineering and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources from Webster University.

He and his wife, the former Kathleen (Kate) Lassiter of Aurora, Colorado, reside in Six Mile with their twin boys, James and Stephen. Their daughter, Emily, is a senior at Clemson University.
